Hi All, I have a text file which is 13 MB contains all kind of data types like integer, text, date, etc... I am trying to upload the content into Excel 2013 using Data->From text feature. I delimited with tab and used "general" option for data conversion. But the text vale "6602-04-04" is getting converted as "4/4/6602". 

Even I tried using "text" for data conversion during the delimit, still getting the same problem. Kindly let me know how to fix this.

When I use Text for a column with that value it stays as text - could you upload a small sample file to a file-sharing site and post the link here?

Based on your description, I tested it in my own environment and I got the same result as you.

Please refer to the picture and the explain of "General" is: 'General' converts numeric values to numbers, date values to dates, and all remaining values to text. I suppose this might be the reason of your issue.

If you don't want to convert date values to dates, you can set column data format as "Text" to get your result.

Hi All. Thanks for your response. I got it now. When I used text, only first column got changed. I didnt notice that. It was my mistake.
